The Xinluda XL8574AT is a remote 8-bit I/O expander that adds eight general-purpose, quasi-bidirectional I/O ports to a microcontroller over a simple two-wire I²C-bus interface (serial clock SCL and serial data SDA). Each port can be independently assigned as an input to monitor keypads or interrupt sources, or as a latched output to drive indicator devices such as LEDs directly. The XL8574AT shares the same pinout and register behavior as the widely used PCF8574A, making it a convenient sourcing alternative for designs that are GPIO-limited.

Three hardware address pins (A0, A1, A2) let up to eight XL8574A devices share a single I²C-bus. Combined with the related XL8574 (different fixed slave-address portion), up to 16 expanders can coexist on one bus, supporting as many as 128 I/Os. An active-LOW, open-drain interrupt output (INT) signals the host MCU whenever an input state changes, eliminating the need for continuous polling. An internal Power-On Reset initializes all I/Os as inputs with a weak 100µA pull-up at HIGH logic levels.
