The XL74HC597 from Xinluda is an 8-bit shift register with input flip-flops, built on the popular high-speed Si-gate CMOS 74HC597 logic architecture. It consists of an 8-bit storage register feeding a parallel-in, serial-out 8-bit shift register. Both the storage register and the shift register use positive edge-triggered clocks, and the device provides direct (asynchronous) overriding load (from storage) and clear functions, making it well suited for capturing and serializing wide parallel data buses over a small number of signal lines.

This device is pin-compatible with low-power Schottky TTL (LSTTL) and is a functional equivalent to the industry-standard 74HC597 family, offered by Xinluda in a space-efficient SOP-16 surface-mount package. The XL74HC597 is also available as the TSSOP-16 variant (XL74HC597-TS) and the through-hole DIP-16 variant (XD74HC597).
