The XL7219 is a serially interfaced, 8-digit LED display driver manufactured by Xinluda (XINLUDA). It is a compact, cost-effective display driver intended as a functional and pin-compatible replacement for the industry-standard Maxim MAX7219CWG+, making it a popular choice for driving 7-segment numeric LED displays, bar-graph displays, and discrete LED arrays. The device integrates a BCD code-B decoder, multiplex scan circuitry, segment and digit drivers, and an 8×8 static RAM that stores each digit, allowing a host microcontroller to update the display over a simple serial interface.
The XL7219 communicates through a 4-wire serial interface operating at clock rates up to 10MHz, and it drives common-cathode displays. Only a single external resistor is required to set the peak segment current for all LEDs, and digital brightness control is available through both an internal code register and an external resistor. The XL7219 is part of the same family as the XL7221, both documented under the Xinluda “Serially Interfaced, 8-Digit LED Display Drivers” datasheet.
The XL7219 is an Asian-brand display driver with limited authorized-distributor coverage in North America and Europe, which can make it difficult to source reliably for production or maintenance runs. Pacific Component Xchange specializes in hard-to-find, end-of-life, and allocation-constrained power-management ICs and display/interface devices. We help engineers and buyers secure authentic XL7219 parts when conventional channels show no stock.
Every order is backed by our authenticity and quality-assurance process, and we ship globally with flexible quantities for both prototype and volume requirements. Because the XL7219 is offered on a request-for-quote basis, pricing and lead time are confirmed per inquiry. Submit an RFQ today and our sourcing team will respond promptly with current availability, pricing, and lead time for the XL7219.
The XL7219 is a serially interfaced, 8-digit LED display driver from Xinluda. It drives common-cathode 7-segment or LED-matrix displays over a 4-wire serial interface and is offered as a functional replacement for the Maxim MAX7219CWG+.
Yes. Xinluda positions the XL7219 as a functional and pin-compatible replacement for the MAX7219CWG+, sharing the same 8-digit serial display-driver architecture and 4-wire serial interface.
The XL7219 is supplied in a SOP-24 (300mil) surface-mount package.
The XL7219 operates from a 4V to 5.5V supply and supports a 4-wire serial interface with a clock frequency up to 10MHz.
The XL7219 is designed to drive common-cathode LED displays, with segment drive current up to 30mA and digit drive current up to 320mA.
The XL7219 is an Asian-brand part with limited authorized-distributor availability in Western markets. Pacific Component Xchange sources hard-to-find components like the XL7219 on a request-for-quote basis. Submit an RFQ for current pricing, availability, and lead time.
