The XL386 from Xinluda is a low-voltage mono audio power amplifier designed as a drop-in, function-compatible alternative to the industry-standard LM386. It delivers usable audio output power from a single low-voltage supply with a minimum of external components, making it a popular and cost-effective choice for battery-powered and consumer audio designs. The XL386 is supplied in a surface-mount SOP-8 package, with DIP-8 (XD386-1) and MSOP-8 (XL386-MS) variants also offered in the family.
The XL386 is produced by Xinluda and is largely sold into the Asian contract-manufacturing channel, so it can be difficult to obtain through traditional authorized North American and European distributors. Pacific Component Xchange specializes in sourcing hard-to-find and allocated power-management ICs and audio amplifiers like the XL386. As an independent distributor, we leverage a global supplier network to locate stock, support obsolete and end-of-life requirements, and ship worldwide.
Every order is backed by our authenticity and quality assurance process to help protect your build against counterfeit and substandard parts. Whether you need a handful of pieces for prototyping or production volumes, request a quote (RFQ) for the XL386 and our sourcing team will respond with current availability, pricing, and lead time.
The XL386 is a low-voltage mono audio power amplifier from Xinluda. It uses an LM386-compatible architecture and is supplied in a SOP-8 surface-mount package, with DIP-8 (XD386-1) and MSOP-8 (XL386-MS) variants also available in the family.
The XL386 is designed to be function- and pin-compatible with the classic LM386 low-voltage audio power amplifier, sharing the same gain configuration (20 fixed, adjustable to 200 via pins 1 and 8), ground-referenced inputs, and supply range. Always validate against your specific design and the datasheet before substituting.
The XL386 operates from a single 4 V to 12 V supply and is rated for 325 mW typical output power (250 mW minimum) into an 8 u03a9 load at VS = 6 V with 10% THD, per the datasheet. Total harmonic distortion is just 0.2% at a 125 mW output level.
The internal voltage gain is fixed at 20 to minimize external part count. By connecting a resistor and capacitor between pins 1 and 8, the gain can be increased to any value up to 200.
The primary package is SOP-8 surface-mount. The family also includes a DIP-8 through-hole variant (XD386-1) and an MSOP-8 variant (XL386-MS).
The XL386 is sold mainly through the Asian manufacturing channel and has limited authorized-distributor availability in North America and Europe. Pacific Component Xchange specializes in sourcing hard-to-find parts like this. Submit an RFQ and our team will provide current availability, pricing, and lead time.
