Like other devices in this proven architecture, the XL3842 implements cycle-by-cycle current limiting through a latching PWM comparator and includes under-voltage lockout (UVLO) with hysteresis plus over-current protection, helping deliver robust, well-regulated power conversion in flyback, forward, and buck topologies. As a 3842-type variant, it uses higher UVLO thresholds (approximately 16V turn-on / 10V turn-off) and supports a high maximum duty cycle.
