The Xinluda XD14518 is a CMOS dual BCD up counter from the popular 4000-series logic family, supplied in a through-hole 16-pin DIP package. It is a pin-for-pin and functional equivalent of the industry-standard CD4518 / MC14518 dual decade counter, making it a convenient drop-in option for legacy and cost-sensitive digital designs. Each device integrates two identical, independent, and internally synchronous 4-stage counters built from D-type flip-flops.
Each counter offers interchangeable CLOCK and ENABLE lines, allowing the stage to increment on either a positive-going or negative-going transition. For single-unit operation the ENABLE input is held high and the counter advances on each rising edge of the CLOCK. A master RESET input clears all four stages of a counter to zero independently. The wide CMOS supply range and diode-protected inputs make the XD14518 well suited to timers, frequency dividers, and general-purpose counting applications.
