The Toshiba TLP240AF is a normally-open (1-Form-A) MOSFET-output photorelay that pairs an infrared LED with a photo-MOSFET output stage to deliver clean, bounce-free, solid-state switching. Housed in a 4-pin DIP package with a 10.16 mm lead pitch, the TLP240AF provides 5000 Vrms isolation suitable for applications requiring reinforced insulation, making it a long-life, contactless replacement for mechanical relays in industrial and metering equipment.
The TLP240AF can be difficult to obtain through authorized channels with limited stock and long lead times. As an independent distributor specializing in hard-to-find and obsolete power-management ICs, optocouplers and photorelays, Pacific Component Xchange helps engineers and buyers secure the parts they need to keep production lines running. Every device is sourced with authenticity and traceability in mind, supported by inspection processes designed to protect against counterfeit risk, and shipped worldwide.
Need the Toshiba TLP240AF or a compatible variant (TLP240A, TLP240AF(LF4,TP4), TLP240AF(D4TP4,F))? Request a quote (RFQ) today and our sourcing team will respond with current availability, pricing and lead time.
The TLP240AF is a Toshiba MOSFET-output photorelay (solid-state relay). It combines an infrared LED optically coupled to a photo-MOSFET output stage in a 4-pin DIP package, providing a normally-open (1-Form-A) contactless switch with 5000 Vrms isolation.
Both are the same MOSFET-output photorelay die in a 4-pin DIP. The TLP240A uses a 7.62 mm lead pitch while the TLP240AF (the 'F' suffix) uses a wider 10.16 mm lead pitch with greater creepage and clearance distances (8.0 mm min vs 7.0 mm min).
Per the Toshiba datasheet, the TLP240AF is rated for 60 V (min) off-state output voltage, 500 mA (max) on-state current, 2 ohm (max) on-state resistance, a 3 mA (max) trigger LED current, and 5000 Vrms (min) isolation voltage.
Yes. It provides 5000 Vrms isolation and carries UL 1577 and UL 508 recognition, cUL recognition, CQC approval and VDE approval (designate Option D4 for VDE-approved types), making it suitable for applications requiring reinforced insulation.
Per the Toshiba datasheet it is used in security systems, measuring instruments, factory automation (FA), smart meters and amusement equipment, and it serves as a long-life replacement for mechanical relays.
Yes. Pacific Component Xchange specializes in sourcing hard-to-find and limited-availability components like the TLP240AF. Submit a Request for Quote (RFQ) and our team will provide current availability, pricing and lead time.
