The Xinluda XD4553 is a 3-digit BCD (binary-coded decimal) counter built on the proven 4000-series CMOS logic architecture. It is a functional equivalent of the industry-standard CD4553 / MC14553B and is widely used as the counting core in multi-digit digital displays, frequency counters, and event-counting instrumentation. The device integrates three negative-edge-triggered BCD counters that are cascaded synchronously, with on-chip latches and a multiplexed, time-shared BCD output, making it well suited to driving multiplexed seven-segment displays with a minimum of external components. An on-chip oscillator provides the low-frequency scanning clock for the digit-select multiplexer.
