The XL8574T from Xinluda is a remote 8-bit I/O expander that adds eight quasi-bidirectional general-purpose I/O ports to any system over a two-wire I2C bus, with an open-drain interrupt output. PCF8574-compatible in an SOP-16 package.

The XL8574T is a remote 8-bit I/O expander from Shenzhen Xinluda Information Technology Co., Ltd. It provides general-purpose remote I/O expansion to a host microcontroller through the standard two-wire bidirectional I2C-bus interface (SCL/SDA), making it a drop-in functional alternative to the widely used PCF8574 family. Each of the eight quasi-bidirectional ports can be independently assigned as an input to monitor a keypad or status line, or as an output to drive indicator devices such as LEDs.

An active-low open-drain interrupt output lets the device flag a change of state on any input pin to the host without the controller having to continuously poll the bus. Three hardware address pins allow up to eight XL8574T devices to share a single I2C bus, supporting as many as 64 I/O lines on one two-wire interface.
