XL386-MS – Audio Power Amplifier – Xinluda

The Xinluda XL386-MS is a low-voltage mono audio power amplifier in an 8-pin MSOP package, pin- and function-compatible with the classic LM386. It offers a wide supply range, internally fixed gain of 20 (adjustable to 200) and low distortion for battery-powered consumer audio.

The XL386-MS from Xinluda is a low-voltage mono audio power amplifier supplied in a space-saving 8-pin MSOP package. Part of Xinluda’s XL386 family (which also includes the XL386 in SOP-8 and the XD386-1 in DIP-8), the XL386-MS is designed for low-voltage consumer audio applications and is functionally compatible with the industry-standard LM386. The “-MS” suffix denotes the MSOP-8 variant of the device.

Gain is internally set to 20 to keep the external part count to a minimum, but the addition of an external resistor and capacitor between pins 1 and 8 allows the gain to be set to any value from 20 up to 200. The inputs are ground-referenced while the output automatically biases to one-half the supply voltage, simplifying single-supply battery designs.
